The wiper motor is a small electric motor that ensures correct movement of the wiper arm on the windscreen. The whole wiper and washer system is simple to build and therefore cheap to repair. The most common damage is mechanical and among the components that most often fail are the motor transmission, wiper arms or wiper blades themselves. The electronics of the system can also cause problems such as a blown fuse, motor and steering wheel switch failure. However, it is important not to run the wipers dry when they are frozen to the windscreen or when frozen drops of water appear on the windscreen.
